Thus, the beautiful and melancholy cove between the beaches of Praia Grande and Gravel became known as Bishop's Beach, or simply Bishop. "I'm going on the beach of the Bishop!" Or: "I'm going on the bishop!" ─ It is what the residents say today Mosqueiro.

Among the beaches of the island, it is the beach which boasts more secular and blackened stones, which, according to those who profess faith african-Brazilian, send good vibes to the practice of Candomblé rituals, for example. It is muddy, rocky and dominated by green pastures, shelters harsh rays, terrorizing bathers. This beach has some peculiarities, such as a large retaining wall in the oldest ─ ─ resort, the breathtaking cliffs of green vegetables, where a little close, are the huge stones King (the largest) and Queen (the lowest). Some older residents of the island say the names of legendary stones were given in honor of the emperor and empress (Pedro II and Teresa Cristina). Another curiosity is that, "They say," if a high tide in March to cover the huge King Stone, is a sign that the world will end.

At the other end of the beach is the island of San Pedro, where there was a monumental image of the Holy Fisherman. In the center, double staircases (right and left), with three flights of steps flanked by pilasters with square with gazebo (down to a reform never materialized) and an old cannon and inactive, as well as extremely exotic architecture of the German Canto Sabia's mansion.
