The Ecological Park Promoter Francisco Lins do Rego is on the island of Ressaca, which was formed by the accumulation of sedimentary material deposited over the years in the Pampulha Lagoon. It occupies an area of ​​300,000 m2, where visitors can practice many sports, playing with children in wooden toys or resting among the trees.

The park is divided into three areas: one for public viewing, another for researchers guided visits to other, and a restricted area to maintain flora (with three different biomes: the Atlantic Forest, Cerrado and the Amazon) and fauna.

Along with the Botanical Gardens and Zoo, the Park is the second largest green area in the Capital, being administered by the Zoo-Botanic Foundation.
