Postal e Telegráfico Museum
Inaugurated on January 15, 1980, the Postal and Telegraphic Museum of ECT actively participated in the Cultural and Tourism Road Map of Brasilia for twenty years until its deactivation in 2001.
Today undergoing redevelopment, the project presents a new design museographic with the use of technology and is considered the carrochefe the revitalization of the South Commercial Sector, the Pilot Plan of Brasilia. Its headquarters has been completely renovated and equipped with modern lighting systems, security against theft and fire and control temperature and humidity independent of technical reserve and exhibition floors.
His collection, with about one million pieces covering topics Postal History, Philately Telegraph and History, is being fully restored and will soon be exposed following a modern museum concept.
The National Postal Museum will feature movie theater, coffee shop, food store / souvenir shop, a rooftop terrace for cultural events, and a restoration laboratory collections of text and three-dimensional and a campus of advanced memory technology postal and telegraph, both located in University Post Office.
The museum attracts many Brazilians and curious collectors from around the world. In this museum we can find the post office issues and developments in Brazil. There is a huge collection of stamps, just to get that delight any collector of stamps. In this museum we also find the first letter in Brazil, written by Pero Vaz de Caminha.
This museum is very complete, so you can spend there a good time to appreciate all the curious objects.
