The Palace Bar opened its doors in 1930 and specializes in meats. One of the highlights is the Paraná barbecue prepared on a grill inside the hall. Another tip is the miner with boots, which leads banana, guava and cheese flamed rum, and is one of the most requested desserts.

These dining establishments offer the classic Brazilian barbecue, which consists of whole cuts of meat that are skewed and barbecued in a “churrasqueira” made with bricks. Prime rib, tri tip, fillet mignon, shrimp, chicken, pork, lamb, and even pineapple skewed and barbecued to perfection in a brick oven and offered at your table, where the waiters cut the meat and serve them on the clients’ plates. The many cuts of meat stay coming to the customers’ table, where they have the possibility to accept a slice of the cut or decline it. The “churrascarias” commonly offer, additionally to the meat, an all-you-can-eat buffet. Usually, the buffet serves salads, rice, beans, and some fish stew. Often, these houses also offer pao-de-queijo (similar to cheese puffs, a bread made of tapioca flour and cheese), deep fried banana (standard Brazilian treats), and baked pineapple - a whole pineapple skewed and coated in sugar and cinnamon and barbecued. Hearts of palm, fresh fruits and vegetables are also part of the menu.
