Eco Tour by Bike at Full Moon night
Pedal Volta do Rio do Julio at night. Located in the Valley Itapocu in the region of Joinville, 187km from Florianópolis. The town of Schroeder is recognized for its beautiful flower gardens, traditional festivals such as Strassenfest, Schroederfest and Kolonestenfest. It has a rainforest that is home to a vast wildlife sanctuary formed by noble trees, rivers, streams, waterfalls and rocky natural systems. It is home to many species of birds, small animals, insects, butterflies, plants, reptiles, bats and fish. Apart from the ecological reserve, Bracinho, it has several areas suitable for action sports and adventure trekking and canoeing in the river valleys of Bracinho Arm South, Rancho Bom and Two Mamas.
Course details: We begin our tour just after the end of Dona Francisca, the entrance of the dirt road called Rio do Julio, heading to Schroeder. Because it is a trip on a full-moon night, the road is even more beautiful. You'll pass by the Hotel Valley das Hortências, a very cozy and quiet area, and then descend the mountain, which is a thrill.
NOTE: This road was recently reopened and therefore needs great caution, because the terrain has loose stones. There will be 11 km downhill. Arriving in Schroeder, we will move toward the center of town where our adventure ends. For those who wish, you can continue up to Joinville, but it will a be challenging 30 km, ending at Holz Hotel.
When and where: We will leave from Our Lady of La Salette Square in the Civic Center in front of the Court of Auditors. If possible, arrive 15 minutes early to reserve your bike.
Distances: 40 km to Schroeder and 70 km to Joinville.
Level of difficulty: moderate- you should be athletic and in good health.
Services: Includes shuttle to the mountain top Curitiba Dona Francisca (one way) to Curitiba Schroeder (Back). Transport of bikes on trailer, individual life insurance, water, juice, fruit, cereal bars, swimming and breakfast at Colonial Holz Hotel in Joinville.
Note: Because this is a night bike tour, everyone should have headlight on their bike. Important: helmets are mandatory.
