Expedicionario Museum
The Museu do Expedicionário constitutes today one of the most complete thematic museums in Brazil regarding the second world war, having in its collection a large quantity of documents, photographs, maps and illustrations.
In it are exposed to various kinds of war materials, such as uniforms, equipment, individual and collective, weapons, ammunition, and other objects that were used by the Brazilian Expeditionary Force (FEB), Brazilian Air Force (FAB) and the Navy of Brazil . In addition to papers and documents of other nations involved in the conflict.
Its external environment includes: A tombstone honoring the Parana soldiers killed in combat;
A tank, representing the FEB;
A fighter plane, representing the Air Force;
An anchor and a torpedo, representing the Navy;
And a howitzer captured from the German army, representing the achievements in combat.
The Museum is maintained by the Expedicionário Legion of Expedicionário Paranaense, a body of ex-combatants who served in the Brazilian Expeditionary Force during the Second World War.
The Museum, established in 1946, illustrates the participation of Brazil in World War II and in particular the participation of soldiers from Parana. It has abundant historical material, including many illustrations, maps, books and documents of the time. There is an exhibit of various war materials and weapons used in war by the Brazilian Expeditionary Force, the Air Force, and the Brazilian Navy.
In the Expedicionário Square, where the museum is located, there is an exhibit of a tank, a plane Thunderbolt and other war equipment used in global conflict.
