Arte de Santa Catarina Museum
The Museu de Arte de Santa Catarina - MASC is a entity linked to the Cultural Foundation of Santa Catarina. Established on March 18, 1949 under the name Museum of Modern Art in Florianópolis - MWFA it houses a collection of 1,680 works derived from purchases and donations in an area of 1980m2 which comprises a hall of 1,440 m2, and Special Living Room Harry Laus, climatic, with 340 m2 for the purpose of exhibition.
The museum consists of Cores: Administrative, Exhibitions / Assembly, Research and Documentation, Library, Conservation and Collection and Art Education. The public has access to the museum through its collection of permanent exhibits, temporary exhibits, research in the Library program and monitored visitation.
The MASC has the support of an Advisory Committee to the work on the annual schedule of exhibitions, the Atelier of Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Property Furniture - ATECORI, technical advice to the collection, and the Friends of the Art Museum of Santa Catarina - AAMASC to provide conditions for growth and achievement in cultural activities.
