Chico Anísio Theater
The Teatro Chico Anysio, a tribute to one of the greatest comedians of all time in Brazil completed 20 years of pure humor in December 2011. Located on University Avenue in the Cultural Corridor of Benfica, the TCA was the scene of major festivals of humor. Today, renovated, with air conditioned and a capacity for 140 people it has humor as its main attraction.
The TCA building also houses the Office of Laughter, The Comedians Association of Ceará (ASSO-H), and the Union of Comedians of Ceará (SINDHUMOR). In the TCA is easy to see teachers, school and college students doing research on humor in the specific collection of 2,500 books in the area. The Teatro Chico Anysio is located in the University Avenue, 2175 between Joaquim Magalhães Street and Avenida Domingos Olímpio.
