Cora Coralina Market
Traditional sweets and foods from Goiana are sold at the Cora Coralina Market, which runs every Saturday. The name pays homage to a famous pastry maker and poet from the state of Goiás. The idea was to create a place where households could sell their own products, which include pies, cookies, and pastries. Honey and several of its derivatives are also sold at the market. All honey sellers here are associated with the Association of Beekeepers of Goiana, so drop by and ask them about their honey. Strict quality control has been put in place to ensure all products are made in a safe and clean environment, so there shouldn't be any problems consuming these street products.
During mothers day, one of the most celebrated days of the year in Brazil, the fair takes on special decorations. Not only for mothers day itself, but for the anniversay of the fair itself. The community has really gotten behind this fair and takes pride in it.
