Parque Zoológico de Goiânia It occupies an area of two hundred eighty-five thousand meters square where specimens of animals and plants live in perfect harmony. This is a large green area in the city center, on Avenida Anhanguera, which limits the Educational Park to the north, and is the main road axis of Goiania. Easy access to the community due to its privileged location, being about a thousand meters from the center. The zoo was established in 1946 and has a thousand and two hundred animals of one hundred ninety-three specimens including birds, mammals and reptiles. Headwaters of five streams do arise inside the park, the Lake of waterbirds, Lake of the Apes, Swan Lake. In the area there are three riparian forests and the headwaters of Capim Puba Creek which forms the Lake of the Roses, with breeding fish, and paddle boats for a nice walk by the water. It also has other facilities for community use as a lighted jogging track, gym station, blocks from beach soccer and futsal. The park houses a very important building for students, is the famous Castelinho whose area was donated to the Municipal Secondary School Students Union in 1983, and maintains there's headquarters. The Little Castle was the scene of the encounter student resistance in the past, having been destroyed in the government of military rule. Contiguous space on the University Radio is established in 1962 by the Federal University of Goias Its programming is of cultural and alternative, looking at the cultural priority, Brazilian music.
