Palácio da Justiça Courthouse
Located on Avenida Eduardo Ribeiro, Manaus one of the key, the Palace of Justice was inaugurated in 1900. The building was built on a raised area is protected by a thick wall with balustrades. This building is part of the urban revolution promoted by the governor Eduardo Ribeiro, Manaus. The land was expropriated in 1893 and the following year's liability was in charge of the construction firm Morton & Moers. The work, however, was completed by José Gomes da Rocha, the government has Ramalho Júnior. Designed to be the site of the courthouse, this architectural monument fulfills the same function today. The palace has an eclectic style, inspired by the architecture of the 2nd French Empire and English Neoclassicism, with a profusion of elements that combine various ornaments. The ground floor has brick flooring, windows and doors and arched columns of the portico of the Tuscan order. The second floor has flat brickwork windows, pulpit yard line, with curved gables and irregular, and columns of the portico of the order composita. The baroque aspect of your internal environment contrasts sharply with its sober and austere facade. Facade stands out in a large statue of Themis (the Greek goddess of Law and Justice), his eyes revealed, right hand holding a sword and left a balance. Below, a medallion that reads Lex (Law).
