Arituba Lagoon
This modestly sized lake is located next to Tabatinga Beach and is an excellent option for swimming in calmer waters. The lake is part of the city of Nisia Forest, which is roughly 46 km from downtown Natal, but don't let the distance deter you. The lake has beautiful blue shallow waters, which presents a nice alternative to the rougher waves of the nearby ocean. It also offers a safer alternative for parents who have children with them. The lake has good tourist and leisure infrastructure, including paddle boats, kayaks, and the famous aerobunda. Many bars and restaurants sit along the edge of the lake offering up snacks and various dishes of fish, shrimp and lobster.
Aerobunda, is the activity of riding a zipline down the side of dune and plunging into a lake or body of water below, this one is accessible by a tyrolean, which is a rope suspended above the water that allows you to pull yourself through the water, until you reach base of aerobunda dune.
