Natal has a large tourism industry, not only within Brazil from Brazilians traveling to this beautiful destination, but tourists from all over the world come to Natal to enjoy it's hot climate, beautiful beaches and wonderful food.  These tourists have helped develop the handicrafts that are made within Natal, and today there are many places at which one can buy unique and culturally diverse pieces to take with them.  These open markets are not only for tourists but for locals seeking out fresh foods, clothing and other goods.  Take your time and go through the many stalls that each of these fairs offers and check out the many wonderfully hand crafted goods available here.   

You'll likely see a Chicken with three small chicks in a carving, painting or little sculpture.  The legend says that combination of the hen with her three chicks will turn your desires into reality.  They are everywhere and hard to miss.  It's a unique piece, and a nice piece conversational piece to pick up before you head back home.
