Ponta de Pedras Beach

Ponta de Pedras Beach

The name means "Point of Stones", and there is a small rock structure that goes out into the ocean which offers some protection for those who are bathing in the waters.  It has small waves which are good for bathing but occasionally has large amounts of seaweed which washes up on shore.  It's not dangerous, but it does make the beach a little bit harder to navigate the shoreline.  The sands are nice, and the setting is very tropical with lots of green lush vegetation growing right up to the shoreline.

The beach is located between Ilha de Itamaracá Beach and Carne de Vaca Beach, and is roughly seventy kilometers from downtown Recife, which means it's going to require some transportation to reach.
