Visitors of many age groups come together here and make the beach of Bairro Novo the busiest in area, which also borders with the city of Olinda.   Swimmers need to pay a bit of attention, as there are several artificial reefs here and even during low tide the water drops off quickly. 

On weekends, the place is frequented mainly by locals and fishermen in the region, so be prepared to share this great beach with the locals.   Locals like to enjoy the scenery, spend some quiet time on the beach and drink the plentiful coconut water severed chilled.  It is ideal to visit the beach during the week when there are fewer beach goers, but realistically, any time is good here!   Visitors often come to enjoy the sea breeze while either walking or cycling along the promenade.  For those who enjoy sporting activities, during the day you can practice volleyball, foot volleyball and beach soccer. 

Bairro Novo has a good amount of infrastructure, including hotels, bars and restaurants specializing in seafood, which are excellent for those seeking a delicious seafood meal.
