Boipeba Island

Boipeba Island Beach in Bahia

With 20 miles of semi-deserted beaches, the island of Boipeba is an invitation to anonymity.

The difficult access is the one responsible for maintaining the "secret" this pearl of the coast of Bahia. Virtually intact, almost wild, Boipeba Island also has a little help from the local population, which strives to preserve nature and guide the tourists to leave everything just the way he found, indeed, as ever.

Human intervention is viewed with reservations. Cars, for example, are strictly forbidden, even for bridges linking the island to the mainland. The only people who travel there are the tractors that make garbage collection. ATMs, currency exchange, or anything that smacks of "civilization" has no place in this quiet island.

British, French, German, Italian and Spanish have already discovered long ago the peace that reigns there. And come back year after year more and more astounded with the turquoise sea, and so transparent, that the Caribbean is probably just find something similar.

Boats leave the beach of Boca da Barra

Boipeba is a haven of rest, ideal for those seeking peace and serenity. If the buzz is part of your travel plans, the ideal is to stay in nearby Morro de Sao Paulo. But the visit to Boipeba is mandatory. Only because of an explosion resistant tourist places of the Bahian coast, would be worth it. But the island is a blessed place and there is much to do there.

During the day the pools require a visit. Moreré is the beach where they are most famous, but the beautiful beach of Cueira also not overdoing it. The river of Hell is a must, especially in the setting of the sun. All in all, a walk (walking, of course) by the 17th-century village leaves the visitor does not indebted to the friendly local population.

Island tourism Boipeba asks a lot of feeling and observation. There is consumerist impulse to survive the climate of "alternative community" that reigns there. The secret is to go with the spirit of unselfish, ready to face many hours of travel by sea to come across a little piece of heaven on earth when you arrive. Iemanjá Party - Feb. 2
