Hamburgers comes from the way Brazilians pronounce “cheese”, which evolved into the shortened version “X” (sheeez). The Beirute is a bigger sandwich. This sandwich is toasted and also much larger than a regular hamburger. It has a Arab influence, as the name “Beirute” suggests.
