Ubatuba
The city of Ubatuba is located on the north coast of the state of Sao Paulo, about 235 km from the capital. It is a good choice for an enjoyable weekend getaway or a longer vacation. There are about 70 beaches of all kinds: deserted, crowded, family-friendly, for surfing, urban beaches, etc ...

Main Beaches
Ubatuba has several beaches, about 70 beaches are scattered in 90 km of coastline. Here we talk about the most beautiful and most sought by visitors.
Maranduba: great beach with open sea, has Jet Boat rides. It's great for a swim. If you come from Caraguatatuba, this is the first beach that you can see from the highway.
Sununga: small beach with two bars, attracts young and beautiful people, the beach is very calm, it is worth knowing, right side has walls of stone which one can climb to enjoy the view from the beach.
Lagoinha: this beach has its access through a condo, the beach is extensive, with relatively calm sea and it is great for the kids.
Fortaleza Beach is an ideal beach for those seeking peace. The access is via a winding road, but it is worth checking out.
Cedro Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches of Ubatuba, with pools and preserved rain forest, it is not busy and to get there, you have to walk about 40 minutes by trail from Fortaleza beach.
Caçandoca Beach: it is a beach with no buildings, but you can arrive by car, around 77 km of the Rio-Santos highway take a dirt road. The beach has calm waters, many families are found in the summer because it is a good beach for kids. One can get to other beaches from there through some easy trails. One of them is Caçandoquinha beach.
Lazaro Beach:This is a well structured beach; It has many trees that provide shade for those who like to lie on the sand. It has several bars, the hotel structure is large, from the Lazaro beach one can get to the beaches of Sununga and Domingas Dias by trails.
Toninhas beach, it is about 8 km from downtown, it has a good infrastructure of hotels and restaurants and is urbanized, the left has good waves for surfing and the right attracts bathers.
Tenorio beach: the beach has a few kiosks, it is an easily accessible location, has good business structure.
Vermelha do Centro: It is a very popular beach for surfers, despite being near downtown, it has no buildings, and at night during the high season there are luaus.
Itaguá: urban beach near downtown, calm waters, which attract fishermen in the morning. There are boat tours to the island and Prumirim Anchieta.
Felix Beach: it is one of the most beautiful beaches of Ubatuba, it attracts surfers, has some bars and shade trees. It is about 18 km from downtown.
Praia Grande: it is an extensive and popular beach and has many bars and kiosks.
Itamambuca, is the most sought after by surfers, it has preliminary surf championships. It has really good waves, and on the right corner there is a river. 15 km from downtown.
Enseada Beach: It is a family-like beach, generally calm seas, it attracts many families with children, extended coast with 3 km or more of sand, good for sports like jogging, racquetball, volleyball, etc., has some good pubs and hotels in the region .
Vermelha do Norte: easily accessible beach along the road, it is a very beautiful beach, as well Itamambuca, it is also sought for the practice of surfing.
TAMAR Project: aims to protect sea turtles, you can see four species of turtles and know how big they can get.

Boat Ride by Anchieta Island: the place was once a political prison, is one of the best places in Ubatuba for snorkelling. The outputs of the boat trips to the island are at the Saco da Ribeira or Itagua.

Ubatuba is bordered on the north by the historic town of Paraty, state of Rio de Janeiro, to the south Caraguatatuba (SP) and west with the Paraíba Valley. Leaving Rio de Janeiro, your best option is the Rio-Santos highway. Coming from Sao Paulo, choose: 1 - Dutra Highway or Ayrton Senna / Carvalho Pinto to Sao Jose dos Campos, Tamoios Highway until Caraguá and Rio-Santos highway (towards Rio de Janeiro) to Ubatuba. 2 - Dutra Highway or Ayrton Senna / Carvalho Pinto highway to Taubaté and Osvaldo Cruz straight to Ubatuba.
