New Year´s Eve in São Paulo
On one side, 6 shows, 15 minutes of fireworks and 2 million people in the Avenida Paulista. On the other, four stages, 20-minute fireworks show and the expectation of more than two million revelers on Copacabana Beach. The New Year's Eve celebrations in Sao Paulo and Rio are as follows: in similar numbers, different in style.
The most obvious contrast is the picture, but artists who will appear in the two years leading face of the country also deepen the differences. In Sao Paulo, each show will be one style - ranging from the most popular and famous singers to samba school champion shows. Lately, the festival has been also broadcasted on the web. The system operates continuously throughout the morning in the main lines, loading and unloading up to 2 hours. After this time, the shipping are only allowed in the stations of Paulista Avenue, with a few exceptions.

The 2010-2011 New Year's Eve was full of surprises for the population, location and decor was stunning. Great artists brighten up the great party. Everyone could watch the shows from anywhere in the Avenida Paulista, because screens were installed for everyones convenience.
A tip is to arrive early to enjoy the whole program. Information about the event is given by São Paulo officials previously to the Eve. All main points for medical care, with clinics, doctors, nurses and ICU ambulances are regularly placed in strategic points of Avenida Paulista.
