Carmo Park in Sao Paulo

Has 1.5 million square meters, with 26% of the area covered by preserved rainforest. Unlikely the Ibirapuera Park, which is highly urbanized, this park has a low density of streets and builidings, and it's the best place on São Paulo to be closer to brazillian nature, with many species of native fauna and flora. The park also contains a garden with about 1,200 cherry trees (sakura), which motivates the Festival of Cherry Trees at august of every year, when it's possible to see the cherry blossoms. The festival is accompanied by typical japanese food and musical presentations. Note that this park is not safe to go at night, and solitary women should avoid deserted areas even at daylight.

The place has rich flora and diverse fauna of the Atlantic Forest. The animals find refuge there and perennial power, which makes it favorable for reproduction of many species. Lakes, springs and reservoirs allows the existence of fish such as tilapia, yams and paunchy, and more than 90 types of birds. Visitors are still non-venomous snakes and lizards, opossums and sloths.
