Albert Löfgren State Park is located in the far north of the municipality in the district of Pedra Branca. With a large green area it offers to visitors a close contact to nature, with its rich fauna and flora. The park was established on February 10, 1896, and it is named after its founder, the Swedish botanist Albert Löfgren. Beside the Cantareira State Park, the Forestry Reserve, which occupies 47,875 m, has lakes with islands formed by tree roots, a soccer field, playground, picnic area, trails, mineral water springs and jogging track . Exotic species (such as eucalyptus, swamp pine and cryptomeria) and native (like Brazil wood (pau-brazil), national-oak, ironwood and jatobá) are part of its beautiful nature environment. While walking through the park it is common to see monkeys and other animals in the midst of its lush vegetation. Turtles, herons, capybaras, ducks, geese, wild birds, monkey, toucan, skunk, heron, sparrow, squirrel among others species of the Brazilian fauna are some of the inhabitants of the park to the delight of visitors. Within the park itself, we find the official summer residence of the governor. You can also visit the internationally known Otavio Vecchi Forest Museum, which has the largest collection of wood from Latin America. Beside the museum is the Tropic of Capricorn Mark which cuts the park.
