Punaú Beach
Situated 65 km north from Natal, Punaú Beach possesses one of the most beautiful landscapes along the North Coast. Most of the beaches on the north side of the state are formed by coconut trees, and dunes, which are a signature of beaches in this area. The beach is situated at the junciton of the Punaú River with the ocean. The reefs around here make it an ideal place for under water fishing, either through snorkeling or scuba gear. For those who are just interested in viewing the wildlife and not eating it, it's also a great place to view the wonders of the ocean.
Restaurants and hotels are availalbe in the area, one of the main venues is the leisure center which has a hotel, restaurant and offers up kayaking and horse rides.
The famous "esquibunda" sport, also present at Jacumã Beach (10451), can also be found here. With large dunes that end at the base of the fresh clear waters of the Punaú River, it's a great way to have fun and cool off.
