Description: Mangal das Garças´s Ducks in Belém

The park Mangal das Garças, which opened in January 12, 2005, is located on the river Guama in the historic center of Belém do Para, in the vicinity of the Navy Arsenal. The ecological park is the result of the revitalization of an area of 40,000 m², a synthesis of the Amazon environment in the heart of the capital of Pará. The lowland forests, the animals of the region and more than three hundred species of native trees planted are present in space.

Nursery or Nursery Aningas of Birds, where visitors have direct contact with an amazing amount of birds.


The Lighthouse of Betém with 47 meters tall, the monumental belvedere of Mangal Garças offers two levels of observation.


The butterfly greenhouse Reserve (José Márcio Ayres), in an area of 1,400 m2, the environment is the first of its kind in the North and it is pointed out as the greatest of all Brazil.

Warehouse of Time, where visitors can buy plants, crafts, books and CDs by artists from Para and you can enjoy an exquisite on-site coffee service.
The park naturalistic floral presents different geographical regions of the state, ie, upland forests, lowland forests and fields. Recreated a nature that will only be ready in 15 or 20 years.

Admission Fees: Free admission to the park, except the monitored spaces, which cost R$ 2,00 (US$ 1.00), or the pass to see all monitored spaces for R$ 6,00 (US$ 3.00).
