The Central Bank of Brazil comprises the region surrounding the train station in Central Brazil in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The Central Bank of Brazil is located on the edge of the center to the neighborhood of Gamboa, at the Avenida Presidente Vargas, one of the main city of Rio de Janeiro. In the nineteenth century the Central Bank of Brazil was the station's original railroad Dom Pedro II system, which extended to the states of Minas Gerais and São Paulo. Throughout the twentieth century the long-distance rail transport has lost importance. Entormo were installed in several other terminals aimed at the urban passenger transport. The Central Bank of Brazil now comprises: Central Station SuperVia, being the station for which the compositions of several converging lines of sub-urban trains in the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro; Central Station of the Subway Rio de Janeiro, where they operate compositions of lines 1 and 2; Intercity Terminal Américo Fontenelle, a major urban bus terminals, which operate intercity lines in the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro; an urban municipal bus terminal. The Central do Brasil provided the backdrop for the film of the same name, recorded in 1998.Built in the 1940s, a time of great economic and nationalistic fervor during the Estado Novo.
