Catete Palace, the shelter of our Republic Museum.

Republican seat of power between the years 1897 and 1960, the Catete Palace has neoclassical architecture with façade of granite and marble portals framed by pink and white marble.

For now there is nothing more than 18 Presidents and to some of the most important events in the history of the country, as the decisions of Brazil's participation in two world wars and the suicide of President Getulio Vargas.

Transformed into a museum after the change of the Federal Capital to Brasilia, the place, and an intense cultural calendar, also counts with a library, bar, restaurant, shop and a beautiful garden, ideal for walks in the evening or even even when resting.

Palace

Palace Nova Friburgo, current Catete Palace, built between 1858 and 1867 by merchant and coffee farmer Antonio Clemente Pinto, Baron of Nova Friburgo, was enshrined as a monument of great historical, architectural and artistic. Raised in Rio de Janeiro, then the Imperial Capital, has become the symbol of the economic elite of Campinas in Brazil nineteenth century slavery. His eclectic style design is the work of foreign artists of renown, as the architect Gustav Waehneldt and painters Emil Bauch, Gaston and Mario Tassini Bragaldi.
