This is a glorious beach and especially during the summer months of January through February, which also sees many national bands playing on the beach stages.   During most of the year, Tamandaré Beach is dominated by the tranquility of the calm green waters and blessed by the sun of the northeast.  For those who love walking, Tamandaré Beach offers some great scenery, with coconut trees lining one side of the walking path and the Atlantic Ocean on the other side.   After a good workout, the ocean is very inviting to those that would like to take a quick dip the clear blue waters.   For most of the year, the beach is mired in a sea of tranquility, ideal for those who want to enjoy a moment or two and just forget the problems of the big city, and who want to spend some time with friends and family.

South of Tamandaré Beach, you can access Boca da Barra Beach (10739) and enjoy the Mucambos River, where it meets with the ocean.  This river is very clean with no pollution and it's places like this that allow us to reflect on the beauty of nature, to enjoy the total freedom nature allows us and to really enjoy the simpler things in life.  

This is one of the busiest beaches in the south of Pernambuco, filled with those who are looking to leave behind the hectic city, particularly during weekends and holidays.  The area is good for water sports as well.   Situated between Carneiros Beach (10737) and Boca da Barra Beach (10739) in the municipality of Tamandaré, this beach is over one hundred kilometers from from Recife and therefore requires a car of bus to reach.  Of course, this distance is one of the things that locals are looking, a place away from the city.

Carneiros Beach does not have the infrastructure to receive many tourists, but that makes it an almost virgin beach, naturally protected from the general population.  Each year the number of visitors increases as they seek out the peaceful nature of the beach and a beach even a bit further away from the hectic city life. 

To get there, you must actually pass through the gates of a former coconut farm and then enter the beach from there.  When you arrive, there are several historical ruins and buildings that make up the rustic setting of Tamandaré Beach. The Fort of St. Ignatius of Loyola is one of those historic buildings, built in 1646, it is now a historic heritage building which resides in this beautiful and peaceful place.  Make sure you take some time to look around the building.  These old buildings really capture what it was like back when the fist explorers came to Brazil.
