Description: Militar Conde de Linhares Museum
Inaugurated on October 12, 1998, the Military Museum is located in St. Kitts, Rio de Janeiro.
Built August 1920 to October 1921, the building of the Conde de Linhares Military Museum was originally occupied by the 1st Machine-Gun Company.

It was also headquarters of the Center for Preparation of the Reserve Officers (CPOR), then moving on to be occupied by the 5th Bda Bld C, which remained until 1996.o building housed the museum until 1996 CPOR the RJ and the Command of the 5th Brigade Armored Cavalry.
In 1998 he founded the Military Museum, which pays homage to Don Rodrigo de Souza Coutinho Teixeira de Andrade, Count of Linhares, born in Chaves, Portugal in 1745.
In 1808, the Conde de Linhares accompanied the transfer of the Portuguese Court to Brazil, where he served as Minister of War and Foreign Affairs. Created the Royal Military Academy, built the house and remodeled the Powder War Arsenal of Rio de Janeiro. Died in this city in 1812.
Recently, with the support of state organs, City Hall, Cultural Foundation of the Brazilian Army - FUNCEB and private sector, closed up almost completely what was left of the adjustments and reforms, initiating a new stage of MMCL now as Center Cultural, opening its doors to the public on May 6, 2001.
Today the museum has displays of long duration, as the evolution of weapons and troops Brazilian Brazilian Expeditionary Force. In addition, the Museum provides space for events that are home to various cultural displays.
