This park has many attractions withi,n and also nearby.  The John and Mary path tells the Grimm Brothers tale, there is also a children's library, and the Philosophers Tower which is a wooden observatory allowing a panoramic view of the city and the ocean.

 

Other interesting sights include an old wooden replica church which was built in 1993 in the Seminário neighborhood, and includes neo-Gothic decorative elements, and a concert hall within, called the Bach's Oratorio.

 

The park also has the German Poetry Square with a reproduction of the Casa Mila facade, a German building build in the early 1900's and which was relocated from the city center to the park.  The park has many artifacts fromt he German immigrants who first came to Curitiba, and includes many traditional items that were used. 

 

The park has over 38 thousand square meters of native forest, and all of the land was originally part of the Schaffer family, but later the city converted it into this beautiful park.  Curitiba has many such parks throughout, making it one of the greenest cities in the world.

 

With all the park has to offer, it's worth while taking a day out of your vacation to come here and enjoy the German heritage that has survived for hundreds of years in Brazil.  There are many other cultures and heritages that are preserved in Curitiba, within walking distance there is the Polish Immigration Memorial, and the Ukrainian Memorial.

 

 

Hours:

 

The Bosque or woods opens daily from 6am to 8pm

 

The Library opens daily from 9am to 5pm

 

Story time happens on Sat and Sun at 2pm
