Basilica de Nazare is a church built in 1852. It is a replica of San Paolo fuori le Mura, a church in Rome. It is draped in gold as well as Carrara marble.

The Basilica in the neighborhood of Nazareth, located in Belém, the church was built by priests Barnabites at the beginning of the twentieth century, with the help of the people of Pará was inspired by the Basilica of St. Paul in Rome, and is 20 meters high, 24 wide and 62 meters in length.

Its marble interior  has beautiful wood ceiling made ​​by artists from Pará and highlights the beauty of stained glass, referring to biblical times and the history of devotion to the Virgin of Nazareth.

On the surface, a mosaic panel shows the Virgin of Nazareth as the Amazon Queen, a regional scenario where there are Indians, blacks, Jesuits, Capuchins, and also the figures of Pedro Alvares Cabral, Castelo Branco (founder of the city of Belém) Archbishop Bartolomeu (first Bishop of Belém), the half-breed Placido, Dionysus Ausi Bentes (governor at the time of inauguration) and a family of workers, among other characters.

In the center of convergence of all the architectural lines is the "Glory," which is the authentic image of Our Lady of Nazareth.

The cornerstone was laid in 1909 by Don Santino Coutino, Archbishop of Pará Fourteen years later, the temple received from Rome the title of Basilica. In 1992, the church was placed among the most beautiful buildings toppled by the Historical Heritage of the State of Pará, was elevated to the status of the Sanctuary on May 31, 2006.

Curiosity: The Shrine Basilica has the oldest set of bells and complete in Brazil. The bells, which date from 1966, were the first electrified the country. They are able to perform concerts, like the sacred corners of Lourdes Ave Maria, Ave Maria de Fatima Madonna Marne, Christ Vence, Devoto People Come, They gather the Faithful, Silent Night, Come and Do Hosanna Christian.
