Arte Contemporânea de Pernambuco Museum
In the early 60, a former prison inmates of the colonial church was restored and preserved by the Institute of Historical and Artistic Heritage (Iphan) to house an exhibition of works donated by Assis Chateaubriand. He was beginning the Museum of Contemporary Art which now brings together a collection of some 2,800 pieces.
In addition to the collection "Assis Chateaubriand," the museum has 204 works of different authors and different techniques such as Candido Portinari, Francisco Brennand, Telles Junior Ladjane Flag, among others. There is also the collection "Abelardo Rodriguez," which includes 923 works, 109 hits, 68 106 photographs and prints, purchased by the State Government in 1984.
