History - Features
Trademark of the city of Rio de Janeiro, the hill of Sugar Loaf Mountain is one devoid of vegetation almost entirely. It is a single block of granite from a rock that was altered by pressure and temperature and has aged more than 600 million years.

For the Company Sugar Loaf, the celebrations for 70 years in the cable car began June 14, 2002, when the resort reopens to public after 75 days to replace the eight supporting cables of the four cable cars in compliance with international recommendations to replace them every 30 years.
