Itanhaém Seaside Resort
Itanhaém is a municipality in the state of São Paulo, being the 2nd oldest city in Brazil it was founded in April 22, 1532, a total to date 479 years, a city of great historical importance because it offers tourists the chance to meet many local that recall and portrays true to its history.
Itanhaém has been elevated to village, in the year 1561. Thanks to the constructions of that time it were very large Itanhaém won the status of municipality.
The city offers various types of Tourist Attractions (Tour), as churches, museums, tours on islands (points that are world-class diving), river, rainforest, cultural and leisure routes for the whole family.
The seaside resort of Itanhaém has an area of 599.1 km ², located on the coast of São Paulo in the Santos Metropolitan Region,The city of Itanhaém is located in Santos, 90 km from the capital city, comprising the municipalities of Bertioga Cubatão, Guaruja, Mongaguá, Peruíbe, Praia Grande, Santos, Sao Vicente, the metropolitan area of Santos.
The Atlantic Ocean washes 26 km of beaches, bays, coves and rocky shores. We highlight the river islands like the Isle of Left Turn and River Island Subdivision Above the sea as well as Goat Island, Stone Meia Praia, Stone Carioca and more along the ocean and Great Burnt Islands Little Burnt, and Lajes da Conceicao and Pedro II. The river network is extensive and Itanhaém River is formed by a large number of tributaries, which include the rivers of Conception White, Black and Aguapeú.
