Dust, Canvas and Concrete - The marks of time remain

The permanent exhibition Dust, Concrete Canvas and was designed to provide an overview of the historical evolution of the city from its zero-March. It was designed by the staff of the Department of Historical and Artistic Heritage, at the time coordinated by architect Silvio Cavalcanti. Silvio is currently working on the restoration and preservation of the city of Pirenopolis, is also responsible for the name Candanga Living Museum of Memory and says, "at the time, even the curators protested the denomination, gave a somewhat controversial, but today the term is Living Museum used in various locations. Living Museum in the sense of interactivity, museum-school, with appeal to all audiences and its own dynamic. The Living Museum is spectacular. It was an important step in recovering from a very authentic architecture in the country. The houses of HJKO are today the most intact collection of wooden architecture from the time of construction. Dust in the exhibition, Canvas and Concrete, visitors have access to different atmospheric sounds, which display photographs, texts, tools, furniture and objects from the early history of Brasilia, since the documents Cruls Mission (which in the late 19th century made ​​the first exploration science in the Plateau with a view to moving the capital), including the drawings by Lucio Costa and Oscar Niemeyer, the configuration of the camps and pioneers coming to key moments of the culture that formed in the city. Among the exposed materials stand out from the fourth most important hotel typical of the era, the Brasília Palace Hotel, one of HJKO doctor, a barber shop and the laboratory of the Free City and the collection of the photographer's friend Juscelino, Mario M. Fontenelle. Two other photographers who complete the exhibition are Peter Scheier (also with photos from the time of construction) and Joaquim Paiva (with an impeccable record of Bandeirante still preserved in its original architecture of the 70s). The collection of this period still features of equipment, photographs, banners, clothing, posters and objects in general. Beside the Catetinho, the Living Museum, this exhibition reveals the origins of life Candanga before the inauguration of Brasília, with sobriety and emotion.

Tradition and Renewal - New Ways
Another exhibition of MVMC is contemplating candango crafts. Tradition and Renewal - New Ways exposes crafts a result of interaction between designers and craftsmen of the DF professionals with experience in the craft sector. In order to transform the contemporary craft production economically viable activity, this work around the creation of innovative products was developed from a partnership between the Museum and the Living Memory Candanga SEBRAE-DF. In education, the Museum offers school-age population to a program of Guided exposure to dust, Canvas and Concrete. This paper proposes the exchange between school and museum, and seeks to sensitize children and youth, to the knowledge of the content relating to the history of Brasilia.
