Espaço Cultural Renato Russo

The architectural complex of Cultural Space 508 South was opened in September 13, 1993. The first building that gave rise to the cultural complex that became established in the 70's was located in a sector for the trade, storage sheds material on one side by W2, and area of commerce, administration and service-oriented the W3. Today the area is situated in the South Wing, one of the blocks which - along with the 107/108, 707/708 and 507 South - form the first quad Neighbourhood Unit, under the master plan architect and urban planner Lucio Costa .

Warehouse Theatre

Appeared in 1974. There were two sheds that functioned as a deposit. The architect Mauro Bonde, University of Brasilia, has created the space that was built in a month. The first piece, specially fitted to occupy the arena theater, was acclaimed by audiences and critics, 'The Man who tricked the devil and even asked the Payback'by Luiz Gutenberg was the first theater production of collective and independent to do in the city, with large cast of professional actors and amateurs. From there, a string of premieres revealed names of actors and directors of the city as Dácio Lima, Humberto Pedrancini Hugo Rodas, Ricardo Torres, among others.

Central Square
Central Square opens with lots of light and ventilation to any space. There are two entrances: one by one in the W2 and W3. There are Gallery Darlan Rosa, box office, room information and a small mezzanine that provides access to Gibiteca. Although the Square is reached on all points of 508.

Multipurpose Room
With capacity for 180 people, the Multipurpose Room is intended for entertainment and theater and dance rehearsals, lectures and performances.

Pocket Theater
Intended to video shows, lectures, slide projection, dramatic readings, debates, seminars and theatrical rehearsals. It seats 66 people, with chairs and non-numbered stage curved floorboard. Do not have urdimento, backstage, stage lighting and sound.

Reuben Valentine Gallery
It has an area of 240 square meters. The name of the gallery's largest espço, was suggested by Wagner Barja artist, who also gave name to the Gallery Parangolé, inspired by the object-creation of Oiticica. Recommended for medium and large exhibitions, with an interesting window open for the W3.

Darlan Rosa Gallery
Ideal for exhibitions of photos, drawings and engravings. It is located in Central Square.

Sala Marco Antonio Guimaraes
With 140 seats and Italian stage for showing films and montages of concerts and theater. The curvature of the roof fits the correct requirements of acoustics, allowing for a perfect projection of the voice of singers and actors. Ideal for events like the festival of theater groups of schools.

Gallery Parangolé
With an area of 115 square meters to the right as you enter in the W3 508 South Great for small and concentrated exposures. It also has a window facing the W3.

Gibiteca
Located on the mezzanine of the Central Square, the gibiteca has a collection of three thousand copies, with emphasis on the collection of mangoes, comics national and international art magazines, videos and cartoons, posters and illustration boards, fanzines from all over Brazil Technical books on design.

Shed of the Arts
Place of workshops in various art forms, styles and techniques. It has space of 1,020 square meters, stainless steel sinks four and a half meters, tanks, mezzanine for classroom or meeting tables and instruments.
