Sala Villa-Lobos
It is the largest of the three rooms of the National Theatre. Destined to dance performances and events, music, theater, opera and others. Inaugurated in 1981, but before when it was just a skeleton, hosted beauty pageants, midnight mass, basketball tournament and carnival ball.
The SCNT has an audience of 1307 numbered seats in five sectors, a President's Box for 15 spectators, a platform fixed floor board race with quarter with 450 square meters and a depth of 25 meters and a width of 12.80 meters and a maximum 16 meters, with an elevator stage, including even the wings with eight feet deep, 17 dressing rooms (six are collective and capacity, each for 60 people).
The proscenium arch has a minimum height of six meters and a maximum of nine meters, regulators and vertical angles. The proscenium is eight meters long and 12 wide computerized lighting desk, a lift to the audience and stage three elevators, one in the orchestra pit with electromechanical operating system and other scenarios to bring to the storage area beneath the stage.
The urdimento is iron mixed with the working system, with a height of 22 meters, 32 electric poles and seven textbooks. Each rod has a capacity of 400 pounds. On the left, the wall contains reliefs of wood for acoustic treatment, covered in carpet and on the other side where the cabin.
The average temperature is 25 degrees centigrade. The Sala Villa-Lobos was inaugurated in 1979 with the first concert of the Symphony Orchestra of National Theatre, under the baton of conductor Claudio Santoro. With the death of conductor and composer, in 1989, the National Theatre was renamed in his honor.
In the inaugural program in March 6, a Tuesday, at 21h, was performed the National Anthem, Bachianas No. 4, Uirapuru and Choros No. 10 for chorus and orchestra by Villa-Lobos. The governing Claudio Santoro, in collaboration with the conductor Levino Ferreira de Alcantara, founder of the Music School of Brasília. Levin, in the 70's, and its dynamic activity in front of the Music School of Brasília, founded Symphony of Brasilia, memorable performances, but of short duration.
