Porto das Dunas Beach
Many hotels, inns and condos dot the Porto das Dunas Beach, which even has it's own water park. Porto das Dunas Beach is located in the district of Aquiraz, which is roughly sixteen kilometers from downtown Fortaleza.
There is an area designated for children which is about half a kilometer long, which has seventeen water toys, swimming pools, a playground and several sports fields. For the adults, there are waves which are great for surfing, and white sandy beaches for relaxing on. On the northern tip of the beach you'll see dunes and a small lakes. Porto das Dunas Beach has roughly 6 kilometers of beautiful beach to enjoy, completely surrounded by huge white sand dunes and is between Cofeco Beach, where there is a river which empties into the ocean and a fishing village called Praínha where fishermen inhabit much of the village and where the yearly race of Navegarte takes place. Handi crafts are also a big draw to Praínha village. If you're looking for a souvenir, this is a good place to pick up a little piece of Brazil.
Access is via EC-040 and is so easy that you'll have no excuse for not stopping to see this beautiful natural landscape. Even if your time is limited in Fortaleza, getting here only takes a few minutes and it's really a stunning location, worthy of any travelers time. The main road leads to the beach over a high dune and as you get closer you'll have a great view of the beach with coconut trees lining the shore.
Porto das Dunas also has the largest water park in South America, Fortaleza Beach Park. Beach Park was built to blend in naturally and to blend in with this beautiful scenery. The fascinating local water park also provides many great events and musical gigs. The quality of services here draws in quite a few tourists, luckily this beach is very large and can accommodate everyone.
There are several options of hotels, inns and restaurants, but most visitors Beach Park is in itself, being the main attraction and due to the quality of its services, as do the tourists have the best vacation of all time . Do not let go and be a child again. Enjoy!

A very traditional forró club in the Northeast, this is something akin to a Cowboy style of music.

| Passeio de helicóptero (activity) - Take a scenic and touristic helicopter tour over the city of Fortaleza, up and down the beaches for ten to twenty minutes. | Caça e Pesca Beach (beach) - On its left bank, is the mouth of the Rio Coco. Situated at the end of Praia do Futuro, the beach is named after a club that used to be in the vicinity.
The literal translation is Hunting and Fishing Beach. The beach has calm waters, and thick dark sand. The sea is not recommended for swimming.
It is roughly 15 km from downtown Fortaleza.
