Parque Nacional de Jericoacoara
Jericoacoara National Park is located in the municipalities of Jijoca Jericoacoara, Camocim Cross and, on the west coast of Ceará, Brazil. It has an area of 8850.00 (ha). The perimeter of the park is 49,929.4 meters. It is administered by the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation.
Until 1985 Jericoacoara was just a small fishing village, lost among dunes and isolated from the rest of the world. Until the tourism discovered, the fame of Jericoacoara knew no bounds. Already been the subject of several television shows and major publications worldwide. The American newspaper "Washington Post Magazine"chose it as one of the ten most beautiful beaches on the planet in 1994. Jericoacoara was the scene of the film "The Oyster and the Wind. " There are no access roads in the last 15 km (road construction within the APA is prohibited by law), so you need a 4x4 to get there.
There are numerous activities to be performed in Jericoacoara, to satisfy all tastes: from tranquil walks and horseback rides to extreme sports, like windsurfing and sandboarding. There are countless tourist attractions, with scenery so different, sometimes it's hard to believe they are so close.
The climate is typically hot and humid with summer rains in autumn (Koepen), with average temperatures between 35 ° C and 22 ° C and the dry period ranging from 5 to 6 months. The average annual rainfall is 1364mm (Government of Ceará).
The coastal environment is extremely vulnerable and composed of different landscapes: saws, lagoons, dunes, lagoons, Board, mangroves, and beaches Halofits Grasslands.

| Farol Beach (beach) -
The beach is actually very small, roughly 100 meters long, with water that is fairly rough and unsuitable for bathing but is great for surfers, who are attracted to the area. There is also a lighthouse here, hence the Portuguese name Farol Beach meaning lighthouse beach.
