Porto das Dunas Beach in Fortaleza
Fortaleza is on the northeast coast of Brazil, near the equator, with a tropical climate. The combination of these factors makes Fortaleza an excellent choice for those looking for a great place to visit with great beaches, great beach weather and great ocean waters to bath, swim, scuba dive and surf in. The beaches along the northeast coast often offer up Dune Buggy Tours which provide an excellent overview of the area with a nice rush of adrenaline. Typical beaches are lined with dunes and coconut trees, making them look a desert, tropical paradise. There are many beaches that are considered urban beaches, and which are typically lined with hotels in Fortaleza. Expect many of the urban beaches to have the best infrastructure, but also expect them to be the most packed. On weekends, many locals also utilize these beaches.
