Sacred Art Museum in Goiás
The Museu de Arte Sacra construction was initiated by the military, who could not complete it due to a real ban that prevented them from being owners of the church. Its construction was completed in 1779. The Museum of Sacred Art of Goiás is located inside the premises of the Church of Our Lady of Brown Men Perpetual Help. With numerous exhibitions in different styles, highlighting the achievements of Saints ceramics made ​​by artists from the state of Pernambuco and the Sacred Art collected between the seventeenth and twentieth centuries. In the year 1921, a fire destroyed the high altar, the sacristy and several still images of wood attributed to the sculptor Veiga Valle. In 1969 the church began to host the Museum of Sacred Art of the Good Death. It is the only building in town that shows characteristic features of baroque façade and it is from its front door that comes out, every Wednesday of the darkness of Holy Week, the Procession of the Blaze. Since 1969, the church houses the Museum of Sacred Art of the Good Death, which has sacred images of various authors, especially the artist Veiga Valle.
