Opened in 2004 in Porto Alegre, the restaurant that had its first unit opened in Rio Grande, still has the fish from the fishing town. Brought directly from Rio Grande to the shops and Bourbon Country Shopping Total, Marco's Restaurant prepares seafood with elegance and sophistication. Among the most requested dishes are the famous crispy shrimp with wire potato risotto served with arugula, apricot, grilled fresh mushrooms. Marco's Restaurant - Shopping Total is in Porto Alegre.

Seafood Brazil has a vast coast, as well as rich river channels, which offers the availability to affordable seafood, such as fresh water shrimp, mussels, deep ocean fish and the like. There are fresh water crabs and two different kinds of ocean crabs as well: the caranguejo and the siri. Fishing on the beach is really normal, and lots of people will obtain their own seafood. Restaurant-wise, getting good seafood can be difficult. Like most areas in America, seafood in Brazil can be overpriced. Keep your eyes open for hints of domestic or fresh fish marketed - it frequently means the food will be far better and inexpensive.

Restaurants in Brazil are often setup to handle lunch time guests rather than the typical dinner time guests. This drastically changes how they prepare foods, and how they price meals. Many lunch time diners are looking for a very relaxed dining experience, with a healthy and relatively quick meal. Hot buffets offer them this by having numerous hot dishes ready. Pricing is generally by weight or an all-you-can-eat model, many places have both options available. Sandwiches are thought of as a snack and not a proper meal! Therefore restaurants typically serve up hot and healthy dishes for lunch as opposed to the typical North American simple style lunches. Meals are normally served and enjoyed on premises, but many dining establishments also offer take-out and food delivery services. Of course the establishments differ greatly in appearance and offerings, including a wide variety of foods. For Brazilians it is very prevalent to return home during lunch to have their meal with their loved ones. This isn’t always doable, especially in the larger metropolitan areas, so restaurants have taken up the slack and designed a business around catering to these people. In many of the less crowded cities it can be challenging to find a standard sit down and order off the menu style eatery.
