Vale dos Vinhedos
The Valley of the Vineyards is a region that occupies an area of 82 square kilometers in the mountainous region of Rio Grande do Sul, 130 kilometers from Porto Alegre, the state capital. The Valley of the Vineyards comprises part of the cities of Bento Gonçalves, Garibaldi and Monte Belo do Sul, formed mostly by the district of the same name, in the municipality of Bento Gonçalves.
The Valley of the Vineyards represents the historical legacy, cultural and gastronomic left by Italian immigrants who arrived in the region in 1875, in perfect harmony with modern technology for the production of grapes and fine wines and high quality tourism infrastructure.
With exciting landscapes that have different shades in four seasons, the Valley of the Vineyards also enchants the hospitality of its residents and the quality of services and products offered.
Small farms share the territory with wineries of different sizes, covering family from canteens, boutique and garage, as well as large firms with international partnerships.
The Valley of the Vineyards wines present identity, being the only ones in Brazil to hold Designation of Origin. The region was the first in the country to be recognized as a geographical indication, being guaranteed by Aprovale the origin of the wines produced here.
