The Historic City of Paraty is one of the most enchanting scenery of the State of Rio. Listed as a National Historic Landmark, the small town from the south coast has been declared World Heritage by UNESCO. The site emerged in the XVIIIth century, as the main port to drain the gold brought from Minas Gerais State. Squeezed between the sea and mountains, the former "Town of Our Lady of Remedies Paraty" is certainly one of the most incredible places on the Brazilian coast.
