The Portuguese Language Museum is the meeting point with the visitor's language, literature and history displayed through visual aids and technology. Instead of walls, voices. In place of works, interactive spaces. In the heart of São Paulo in the Light Station, the Museum provides a sensory journey through the Portuguese language and subjective, the sixth most spoken language in the world, guided by words, writers and stars of Brazil.

The work is a realization of the State of São Paulo and the Roberto Marinho Foundation, partnerships with public and private companies. Throughout the project it was invested R$ 37 million and the works lasted one year and five months. In total, 400 workers worked on the restoration and adaptation of the four floors of the building of light that became the present museum.

Installed in the building above the platform of the train station of the Estação da Luz (11934)(Light Station) in downtown São Paulo, the museum has a vast content of the history of Portuguese, the languages ​​that helped to form it, the ways that language plays in everyday life and the creation of the language in Brazilian literature, among other topics. All this in a variety of media to ensure the visitor interactivity.
