Porto Alegre International Airport

The international airport of Porto Alegre is the largest in the state of Rio Grande do Sul and one of the largest airports in Brazil. It serves flights to almost all major destinations in Brazil and also operates some international destinations such as Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. About 5.6 million passengers passed there in 2009. Gol Transportes Aereos, WebJet, and low-cost airlines are operating at the site.

Public Transport
Buses and taxis connect the airport to the city center. Buses run frequently and are cheap. The airport has a free van service that takes you to the station "Airport" of Trensurb. The Trensurb connects you to the bus station in Porto Alegre, which has buses to anywhere in the state of Rio Grande do Sul and other cities. Taxis are often not economic.
