Diabo Beach
To the left of Stone Arpoador, you will find Diablo Beach, within the chic and expensive neighborhoods of Rio de Janeiro. Diablo Beach faces the open sea and is so named because when the sea is turning over, it is much more violent at this point than any other and reminded the settlers of Rio of the dark visions of hell.
Today, there is a small square at the entry to Diablo Beach, where visitors can sit and enjoy the scenery and enjoy a fresh ice cold coconut from one of the available kiosks.
Praia do Diabo beach is to the left at the Arpoador Rock.
Praia do Diabo beach is to the left at the Arpoador Rock. It is a small beach, facing the open sea, surrounded by coconut trees. There is a small square, before the descent to the beach, with benches where you can sit and enjoy the landscape sipping some very cold coconut water. The beach got its name because when the sea is rough, it gets much more violent at that particular spot.
