A tropical place wouldn't be tropical without lots of lush green foliage, beautiful exotic flowering plants and dark green vegetation fed by the sun and rivers. Fortaleza does not disappoint. It has a good number of parks within the city, as well as in the surrounding areas and many large national parks. Take for example the Parque Nacional de Ubajara, with it's many paths and hidden areas. Take the cable car down a five hundred meter valley, and enjoy the impressive views the entire trip down, and when you're at the bottom, take the hiking trail from here that leads you down a two hour trail to the entrance of a large cave. The cave is open to everyone, with many rooms and interesting cave formations within. The bats are harmless, but some find them disturbing none the less. The sights, sounds and smells of the parks in this tropical paradise will enchant you, and never leave you. We recommend every park in Fortaleza.
