Gilberto Freyre/Guararapes - Recife International Airport

Recife International Airport, also known as Guararapes Airport, is one of the largest in northeastern Brazil. It is also the newest and most modern in the country. Serves cabotage flights to almost all major destinations in Brazil and also operates some international destinations. About 5.25 million passengers passed in 2009. Gol Transportes Aereos WebJet and low-cost airlines are operating at the site.

Buses and taxis connect the airport to the city center. It has an integrated terminal and several bus lines that reach throughout the urban area. It has two taxi services: the common (economic) and the special.
