There is a marked presence of red and white wines from Italy and France, and other countries covered by more than 1,200 labels. Some options are the Sicilian Anthile 2007, the French made pinot noir Hautes Côtes de Nuits La Vecherotte 2004 and the Argentine red Paris Goulart in 2005.
Wine is typically had with food, and there are quite a few really excellent wines is southern Brazil where the climate is superior for growing the necessary grapes. All of the wines you will enjoy, will be local or South American varieties. This is primarily due to import costs and taxes. It is unlikely you will find any wines from other countries.
While Brazil has a considerable number of vineyards, a vast number of them grow table grapes, and only a few grow them for Brazilian wine.

Almost all of the wine production of Brazil is concentrated in the south part of the country, at a distance from the equator, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, which is close to Uruguay and Argentina. In that area, several of the farms are also located in cooler high and hilly locations, to a large part in the Serra Gaúcha region.
