Pinho Palace

The Palacete Pinho is considered by the Institute of Historical and Artistic Heritage (Iphan) as one of the most characteristic examples that marked the late nineteenth century, the coming economic summit of the boom.

Since the beginning of its occupation by the family of Antonio José de Pinho Commander, responsible for its construction, was the scene of constant cultural events. Its plan is "U", and the open courtyard in front, a baroque proposal is limited by a similar grid as in Portugal The language of the openings that the first floor are arched and the second straight rods, surmounted by pediments and curvy, fit with tile flooring and the lambrequins the highest part of the building (the shrine). The lack of resources of the heirs to preserve it, led to its sale in 1978.
